Have The Tree You Desire Delivered and Installed
We work directly with local Tree Farms such as Twin Lakes Tree Nursery, Trees USA, Purtis Creek Tree Farm and Fannin Tree Farm.
Our general tree installation process:
- Selecting the right tree for your desired location
- Working with you and your family to meet your budget
- Delivering your tree professionally to ensure the integrity of the tree is not compromised
- Container grown trees the roots are cut in multiple places before the tree is placed in the ground
- The root ball
is installed 4"- 6" generally above the soil line - All soil is removed away from the flare of the tree. Flare is fully exposed
- Roughly 30 bags of fresh top soil is added around the rootball of the tree and also on the top of the soil grade
- As soil is added the tree is watered to ensure air pockets rise to the top
- Tree is stabilized with wooden arbor stakes and arbor tape
- A ring will be cut around the tree. The ring will be slightly larger than the canopy of the tree. All sod will be cut out and removed.
- Mulch is installed around the tree leaving a 1' circle at the base without any mulch
- Rootball is then soaked in an insecticde Imidacloprid for wood borer and insect prevention.
Also please see our Tree Maintenace Tips below. These tips you can implement after we leave to continue to help your Tree grow in the best possible conditions.
After Installation-
Tree Care Tips
Tips vary based on conditions. However these basic tips are beneficial for the most common of Trees installed and grown in South East Texas LandscapesThese are the 3 basic tips that you can do for your new tree to help the tree have the conditions needed to mature properly and survive.
- Do not over water the tree. For example if you are using a gator bag or tree watering bag. Fill the tree once a week for the first 2 months. After that its a good idea to cut it back to every two weeks. Eventually a good rule of thumb is after 6 months remove the bag. Trees don't like "their feet" or roots wet. if you have a bubbler the process is the same. Eventually you want to turn the bubbler off.
- Super Thrive (root stimulator) the tree. https://superthrive.com/faqs/ The process is by using a bucket adding one gallon of water and one cap full of the ingredient and slowly pouring the mixture on the rootball of the tree. This is called a soil soak. You want the rootball to soak up the mixture, you don't want any run-off. Do this once a week for the first two months. After that you can do it periodically until your tree is established.
- Mulch. Shredded hardwood or pine bark organic mulch is great to use around trees. Every spring mulch the ring that you have around your tree 2"-3" thick. This will help the soil to keep moisture, the nutrients in the mulch break down and the soil absorbs the organic nutrients. Mulch also helps with soil compaction. Also it is a great weed control. Remember to keep about a 1' away from the flare or bottom of the tree with your mulch.
If you see any issues with your tree for example changing in the leaves and or bark please call us so we can look at it and address the problem.

“They are always looking for issues that need to be addressed.”
